Rakuten Cashback & Rewards — 1 Portal ComparedEmbed

Create a Rakuten account, sign in, search for a participating retailer, click the store link through Rakuten, and complete your purchase during the same shopping session. Rakuten tracks the transaction and credits eligible cashback to your account.

Generally, you cannot earn Rakuten cashback by clicking through another cashback portal. Cashback portals usually require their own tracking link to receive the commission, so using multiple portals for one purchase may prevent tracking or crediting.

In most cases, cashback from two separate portals cannot be combined for the same transaction. You may be able to use store coupons, promotional codes, credit card rewards, and loyalty points with Rakuten cashback, subject to the retailer's terms.

Rakuten typically tracks purchases through browser cookies, app activity, affiliate links, or its browser extension. To improve tracking, start with Rakuten, disable conflicting cashback extensions, avoid ad blockers when necessary, and complete your purchase in one session.

Rakuten cashback may remain pending while the retailer confirms that the order was completed and not canceled, returned, exchanged, or refunded. The confirmation period differs by retailer and may take several days or weeks.

Cashback becomes payable after the retailer confirms the transaction and any return or cancellation period has ended. Rakuten generally issues payments on a scheduled basis, but timing and eligibility can vary by account status and program terms.

Your Rakuten cashback amount depends on the purchase subtotal, the advertised cashback rate, eligible product categories, exclusions, and any applicable maximum. Taxes, shipping, gift cards, and certain fees may not qualify.

Rakuten cashback may work with coupon codes, but only codes shown on Rakuten or explicitly approved by the retailer may qualify. Unlisted promotional codes can make a purchase ineligible for cashback, so review the offer terms before checkout.

Usually, you can earn Rakuten cashback while also receiving rewards from the credit card used for payment. Check both Rakuten's offer terms and your card issuer's rules, especially for purchases involving gift cards, special financing, or excluded categories.

Yes, many participating retailers offer Rakuten cashback through the Rakuten mobile app or a mobile browser. Start the shopping session from Rakuten, confirm that the cashback offer is activated, and avoid switching apps or browsers before completing checkout.

The Rakuten browser extension can alert you when a retailer offers cashback and may activate the offer with one click. After activation, complete the purchase in the same browser, and review the retailer's terms for exclusions or tracking requirements.

Cashback may fail to track because of ad blockers, competing affiliate links, disabled cookies, private browsing, coupon extensions, using an excluded payment method, or leaving the retailer's site before checkout. If eligible, submit a missing cashback request with your order details.

Sign in to Rakuten and use its missing cashback or customer support process. Provide the retailer, order number, purchase date, order total, and any requested documentation. Claims are reviewed under Rakuten's tracking and eligibility policies.

Sale items may qualify for Rakuten cashback, but exclusions can apply to clearance products, selected brands, marketplace sellers, or specific categories. Always read the current offer details before purchasing to confirm which items are eligible.

Some retailers may offer Rakuten cashback on gift cards, while others exclude them or limit cashback to certain denominations and categories. Check the individual retailer's terms because gift card eligibility can change during promotions.

Rakuten cashback is commonly calculated on the eligible merchandise subtotal rather than taxes, shipping, handling, duties, or other fees. The exact calculation depends on the retailer's terms and the specific Rakuten offer.

Cashback associated with a returned, canceled, exchanged, or refunded item is typically reversed or withheld. If only part of an order is returned, Rakuten may adjust the cashback based on the remaining eligible purchase amount.

Rakuten cashback rates can differ by retailer, account, product category, promotional event, device, or targeted offer. The rate displayed on Rakuten immediately before you click through is the one you should review, along with its exclusions and expiration date.

To maximize Rakuten cashback, compare current rates, activate limited-time bonuses, use eligible store coupons, shop during seasonal promotions, avoid excluded products, and verify that tracking is enabled. Never buy unnecessary items solely to earn cashback.

Rakuten is generally free to join and use. The service earns commissions from participating retailers and shares part of those commissions with eligible members as cashback. Review the current membership, payment, and promotional terms for applicable requirements.
